ChromTuner

Pitch perfect. A chromatic tuner for macOS with 1 cent accuracy

ChromTuner is a native chromatic tuner for macOS that reads your instrument through Core Audio and detects pitch with the YIN algorithm, settling on a reading in under 50 ms at plus or minus 1 cent in real playing. It ships 15 instrument presets for guitar, bass, violin, viola, cello, double bass, ukulele, mandolin and banjo, plus 8 historical temperaments including Werckmeister III, Kirnberger III, Vallotti and quarter-comma meantone, and A4 calibration from 349 to 500 Hz. Four readouts are included: an LED meter, an analog needle, a live waveform and a Peterson-style strobe, and the app can run from the menu bar alone. Everything runs offline with no account, and the microphone signal is analyzed in memory and never stored or transmitted.

Badgeify

App icons and notification badges in your Mac menu bar

Badgeify puts app icons and unread badges for Messages, Mail, Slack, Teams, and other apps in your Mac menu bar, so you can hide the Dock and still see what needs attention. It pairs with menu bar hiders like Bartender, Ice, and Hidden Bar, and lets you pick a badge style and color per app. The free tier covers 3 apps, and a one-time $19 lifetime unlocks unlimited apps and custom icons.
